NO MINING YANDOIT REGION has been created to help raise awareness of current mining issues within the local community. At present there are two mining companies, Red Rock and Nubian, that are actively engaged in exploration for gold across the Yandoit and surrounding areas. Below you will find links to help you locate information regarding any mining and exploration licences that may be affecting your property and to enable you to lodge an objection to mining and exploration licences.
The Alliance For Responsible MininG Regulation (ARMR) launches a 10 point reform plan
As Victoria continues to experience a boom in minerals exploration and development, it is essential that we learn from past impacts. While mining helped build the state’s economy in the 19th century, the current boom threatens regional communities and farmland, and will use increasingly scarce surface and groundwater.

ARMR (Alliance for Responsible Mining Regulation) have been hard at work designing and printing the LOCK THE GATE signs for distribution to areas across Victoria currently impacted by gold mining. ARMR have done a wonderful job with the signs and we are grateful to them for the time and effort taken to bring the signs to fruition, as well as giving our local community the opportunity to be involved in the LOCK THE GATE movement.

PEOPLE
The Yandoit region is home to a wide variety of people including indigenous people, generations of farmers, creatives, young families to name a few. Mining threatens to impact the lives of everyone in the area and disrupt our peaceful community.
LAND
Yandoit and the surrounding area is a diverse landscape made up of a complex network of interconnected systems that work together to form an extraordinary bubble of life. Mining jeopardises this and more.
WATER
Water is probably the most precious resource that we have and mining puts that at risk. Over time it has become well known that mining can lead to pollution of essential water ways and water tables.
FLORA
Mining in Yandoit and surrounding areas will result in deforestation causing severe negative impact to our diverse and often rare plants and trees.
FAUNA
Deforestation is an extremely detrimental side effect of mining which leaves our unique, precious and endangered wildlife displaced and vulnerable.
